nice

this is a perfect example of why people need to practice with animation and flash techniques BEFORE submitting anything to newgrounds, except unlike all the other perfect examples, this is an example of the positive results.

ArtistJ responds:

I dont understand what you are saying with your review. At first i thought you were simply calling me amature, which i am not, but well maybe im a little amature compared to youre award winning flash toons, but then you said this is an example of the positive results... and i just wanted you to elaborate on what you ment by this being an example of positive results?

nuts

when you said the sprites were traced i thought you meant you manually traced them yourself, not just did the trace bitmap feature. sorry, that's like HALFWAY there, but not all the way. animation was good though, so it still gets a thumbs up :)

Maverick22 responds:

what you crazy. The tracing alone took me hours. I had to go in and trace every frame of the animation. For some moves, there were 300 frames and I have to go in and input the command---wait. and move on to the next frame. It was very tedious. And that was just for one move.

keep it up manuel

you continue to be among the most prolific artists on flash in terms of product and style, and this keeps the tradition up. It's awesome following your work.

HeRetiK responds:

thanks a lot rvyn! :)

very very good

This, honestly, is probably the best radiohead video i've seen on this site (and that includes talk show host and the rest), simply because its imagery is quite unique, and executed so simply. I love the rotoscoped imagery, and despite what others have said, the wiggliness is what makes it feel alive. in animation terms it's called "breathing." and of course, the use of the song was quite awesome :)

MattShaw responds:

wicked. Thanks for the review, I appreciate it

left me with an odd but nice feeling

I really feel incompetent not knowing how to convey what I felt watching it. The music was very nice, although a little on the loud side. It didn't feel repetitive, but I would have preferred a volume a little less intrusive. The art was nice enough, and again, the looping animations didn't get boring. There was one walking animation that was only two frames and stuck out as not at all smooth unlike the other scenes (like the fog rolling through the hills... it hypnotized me). All in all, very good stuff.

Virgilcomic responds:

Thanks. I apologize if it was too loud. I try not to be too intrusive. The volume is at an even level, though, so it couldn't hurt to just turn it all down.

good enough

i don't understand how something like, what, 5 or so drawings at the most could've taken two hours, but i don't look too much at the amount of work that's displayed as much as the final product, and in the end, the message is good, but the animation is short. cute though.

TomFlump responds:

yea it wasnt JUST the hand. editing the music, finding the perfect picture etc...

alright

the beginning is very very reminiscent of Don Hertzfeldt's L'Amour, from the "I NEED MY SPACE!" and the ripping out of heart.

Afro-Ninja responds:

Haha, that was my inspiration for the whole movie. I saw that a long time ago, I just couldn't remember what it was called or who made it

yes

yes, i don't doubt the film is serious, but it's not hard to make something that isn't funny. unfortunately, just because something isn't funny doesn't mean it's automatically good, and oftentimes the thing that makes it good is either a good plot (which i didn't expect, so I wasn't disappointed), but originality. And what I saw, despite the fact that this may have been heartfelt, is something that is extremely cliche... a heart being bled on, a slit wrist... are these unique images in your life? i'd think not, even though i know your life is unique. rain and a moon? a piercing needle... i don't need something i've seen millions of times before to relate to something, and I certainly don't need to see a noose nor a gun to sympathize with someone.

Mini3D responds:

Ok just to let you know, i know those things are seen all the time in the same light, but in this movie i used them for another meaning. Those objects are symbols. You think i'd make something so simple? If you did you got me wrong, watch it again but this time don't look at the objects as a representative of other things than just what they are usually seen for. Thank you for your review.

the first was better

the art was good, but the action moved slow. if the vampires just stand there as you attack them, I find nothing so scary about them. The lamp post might as well have fangs. Also, the animation itself was quite slow, it wasn't as mesmerizing as the first.

ImageNation responds:

Thanks for the review

oh GOD

will people PLEASE stop using that song? Welcome to the masses of the aurally unoriginal.

Skititlez responds:

Hey, a song is a song. The actual movie is compiled of 4 Super Mario songs, all different. Screw the song. I do think it's overused, happy?

I can only try to have people view me as I would like them to view me, and animation is a step in that direction.
