cool for what it is...
... as a tech test, this is really cool. would have preferred something more applied, like in XiaoXiao, but works great nonetheless.

Meh
It better have taken a long time to do the graphics (which look fabulous), because honestly the animation is quite simple and rough, and once the graphics are done already, would not have taken long to do. I expected something longer...
well, to tell the truth, the graphics took me about 2 minutes to draw. it was like my second try at flash and at the time i didnt realise what potential flash had for story telling. im making up for all my past animations with my next cartoon though (due in about a month)- (check the ALPHAS soon)
no effort whatsoever...
...i know it's not supposed to be an actual movie, then why did it have the file size of one? One, because of the music, the length of which is not needed for something only 3 seconds long. Two, because the simple kodamas in the picture are made of bitmaps or jpegs or something other than Flash graphics. It would have been very simple to trace them as such, and cut down at least 10-20 kb of space.
good, but...
...you're right, doesn't really fit into a Flash context. This would have made a much better Quicktime. Otherwise, the part I actually was most impressed with was the way the letters came in in the end credits.
Ehh...
... this could have been so much edgier. the art in itself is cute, but it doesn't work when you're driving for satire. it reminds me of the old computer animated shorts on Sesame Street, when it shouldn't.
Hm. I'm not sure I understand why this doesn't work for satire? I don't think it matters what the art is like since anything can be used satirically.
Next time please offer some suggesions of how you might have done things. Everyone could use more ideas ... including me.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
One can't blame a man's thoughts...
...and for having the guts to lay his cards out on the table. Must admit, not the most exciting, efficient, nor the least obtuse way of expressing things that trouble someone inside, and on a technical note most of the file size is made up by the Rob D music, good soundtrack music that is driving but not in-your-face, however doesn't work as well when the visuals don't stand themselves out. but nonetheless, this is an honest man's views of the world, and another way of seeing things is always a good way.
Amazing tech test
This is animation in one of its purest forms, where the visuals tell the story, and everything else takes the backseat. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. This one does for the most part. On the other hand, since this really was more of an animation test, it probably could have worked if it was shorter, you probably would have been able to pack more effects in there. story wise, i actually think it was paced pretty decently, and while it did not grab me per se, it was very appropriate.
very cute, something to the tune of Pixar's earlier shorts.
I can only try to have people view me as I would like them to view me, and animation is a step in that direction.
