wow

it's amazing how many of those particular segments I'd've blammed had they not been part of one collab...

oh, no!

come on, the animation is really good, the atmosphere is dripping, so why stop halfway and have a stick figure main character? still though, very nice.

spacejelly responds:

OH NOES!!1
the movie was built AROUND the stick figure, i got a little out of hand

oh, i get it.

no matter who you are, everyone you consider to be different than you looks like a loser. that's really unique... what with most movies with these types of messages at least portray the main character to have some sort of sympathy for even those who are different from them. But no, i guess we're all that judgemental and prejudiced. good to know, thanks a lot.

oh

well, i was hoping that this would be like 24 in that it was in real-time... no jumping forward at all, everythng would happen in real time (i.e. the all the events of the 24 episodes put together would have actually happened in 24 minutes). it's still a cute series, but it's lost most of its novelty already because of that.

um

definition of parody: A literary or artistic work that imitates the characteristic style of an author or a work for comic effect or ridicule.
two things wrong with the description of this work:
1) there isnt anything on here that's used to comic effect over the original. in fact, shaolin soccer is BY FAR funnier than this.
2) Shaolin Soccer is a parody of both sports movies and martial arts movies already. That's like making a nonfunny parody of Spaceballs.
The animation is good, but you just gotta be honest about what you're doing.

we'll see

i'll wait for the rest. by the way, in the movie, i just wanna be anal here for just a moment, they didn't save the day, somebody else saved their day.

i like it a lot

this is infinitely better than anything you've ever done with the XIN series. While I dread every episode of XIN that comes out, I can't wait to see what comes next for this series!

daring

i'm impressed that you went the daring route of using almost entirely rasterized graphics as opposed to flash's vector graphics, but it seems that as a result most of the graphics, while gorgeous (the use of blur effects are a great effect) are static (or at least, lack kineticism). It's impressive in the Broken Saints style, but I imagine that if you had rendered the characters in vector style you would've been able to craft much more fluid action sequences AND far reduced the filesize. Good luck in the rest of your endeavors.

wow

imagine what Newgrounds would be like if users had to submit that kind of quality for their first submission.

great, however...

i just wanted to clarify some stuff to totally get this down perfectly...

first of all, it's spelled PHONEME, and while it does apply to the shape a person's mouth makes when they say a sound, specifically it's the smallest discernable phonetic unit. For example, in the words CAT and MAT, the phonemes "C" and "M" distinguish the two words. So it's not really the shape of the mouth, but the sound itself.

*THE MORE YOU KNOW*

JackSmack responds:

Well you got me I guess... I really don't know anything about animation...
:(
Well... ya I know a thing or two... Could have sworn I spelld it right. I'm sorry... I have led alot of people astray... :) well it's better than letting them wonder aimlessly I guess.

on the misspelling... MY BAD!

I can only try to have people view me as I would like them to view me, and animation is a step in that direction.
