not bad

simple yet effective. it's a good small project, not too ambitious, but did exactly what it set out to do. what class was that for?

follow logic here:

the original poninjas was a tribute to madness. Poninjas is NOT as good as madness, and offered nothing new to the genre, therefore madness>poninjas. This is a tribute to poninjas, and is NOT as good as the original poninjas, and brings nothing new to the genre, therefore madness>poninjas>poninjas relinquished. If I give the original madness series a 9 at most, then the most I could give this would be a six, but it doesn't even match that.

not particularly improved.

my comments for this are the same as the ones i left in the previous movie, except this time i gave a lower score because you so easily could've just reuploaded a new version in the previous entry as opposed to going on record and insulting your audience while at the same time asking for attention.

and another thing, i almost certainly would've voted higher had you not had any story or dialogue in there at all... the story was terrible and WAS copied from genryu's blade, and nothing you do will change that.

impressive

it wasn't so hard if you knew what you were following and know that there's one thread moving along continuously. very clever!

Hehe yeah, at some points I had to animate later things first, then come back to previous parts. Thanks for the review!

eh

the 3d models looked good, but they were imported very roughly into flash. as 3d models they also moved pretty stiffly and weren't too interesting (relying on the movement of the background to really get us moving). not surprisingly the 2d animation was the most stirring stuff, but it was rotoscoped (traced) from a video source, from over here it looked like it was taken from Equilibrium the film. Overall when you look at it it's a pretty mediocre production. I think you still have a way to go to perfect your movement skills.

top notch sound

the sound definitely drove the animation, so great job with that. otherwise, though, the idea HAS been done before (take your pick, from Looney Tunes to Don Hertzfeldt to Ed Skudder's Paper Wars right here in Newgrounds), and with more depth and excitement. It was cute, but I can't give it much more than that.

good lord

amazing stuff as always, krinkels, you show the wannabe's how it's done, and then some.

and yet... i feel ambivalent toward the new angles... they look amazing and would be a welcome addition in any other animation out there, but part of madness's charm for me was always the 2d feel of it all... I never once wanted it to be 3d... oh well.

good job

reminds me of the opening of Catch Me if You Can (UPA style). I suggest you take a look at the films by billyblob for similar stuff.

better than the rest of the series, but still

my main complaint with this series is that it moves interminably slowly, even the action scenes. it seems to have been done for people to enjoy the visuals, but there's a problem with that. With what seem to be poser3d models put into swift (or, heaven forbid, trace bitmapped), you've created expectations of great animation and realism, neither of which this series has. Hand drawn movies by Adam Phillips and Synj show that simpler, hand-drawn animation can be far more engaging than the stiff and slow movement seen here.

I can only try to have people view me as I would like them to view me, and animation is a step in that direction.
